This Agreement is intended to provide the undersigned participant (hereafter referred to as the “Student”) with important information regarding the practices, policies, and procedures of Dena McComb (hereafter referred to as the “Teacher”), and to clarify the terms of participation in yoga classes and related offerings.
Any questions regarding this Agreement should be discussed with the Teacher prior to signing.
Nature of Yoga Practice
The Student understands that yoga is a physical and experiential practice that may include, but is not limited to:

Physical postures (asanas)

Gentle movement and stretching

Breath awareness and breathing techniques
-
Meditation, relaxation, and mindfulness practices
Yoga is a personal and self-directed experience, and each Student is responsible for choosing how and whether to participate in any aspect of the practice.
Physical Risks & Personal Responsibility
The Student understands that, as with any physical activity, participation in yoga involves inherent risks, including but not limited to muscle strain, joint injury, dizziness, or other physical discomfort. While every effort is made to provide a safe and supportive environment, the risk of injury cannot be entirely eliminated.
The Student agrees to:

Move at their own pace

Listen to their body and honor personal limits

Modify or stop any movement that causes pain, discomfort, or distress

Rest at any time during class

Seek clarification or support from the Teacher when needed
The Student understands that they are solely responsible for determining whether yoga is appropriate for them.
Not Medical Care
Yoga instruction is not a substitute for medical care, diagnosis, or treatment.
The Teacher is not a licensed medical professional and does not diagnose or treat medical conditions. The Student agrees to consult a qualified healthcare provider regarding any medical concerns and to determine whether yoga practice is appropriate for their individual condition.
Pregnancy, postpartum status, recent surgery, chronic illness, injury, or other health conditions may require modifications or avoidance of certain practices.
In-Person & Virtual Classes
Yoga classes may be offered in person and/or online via video conferencing platforms.
The Student understands that:

Virtual participation carries additional risks due to the absence of physical adjustment or direct supervision

The Student is responsible for ensuring a safe space for practice, including adequate room, stable flooring, and appropriate equipment
Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability
By signing this Agreement, the Student knowingly and voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation in yoga classes, whether in person or online.
The Student hereby WAIVES, RELEASES, AND DISCHARGES the Teacher, hosting facilities, venues, studios, and their respective owners, employees, contractors, and agents from any and all liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage arising from participation in yoga classes, including travel to and from classes, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The Student further agrees to INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the above parties from any claims arising from participation, except in cases of gross negligence.
This waiver is binding upon the Student and their heirs, legal representatives, successors, and assigns.
Photography & Recording
The Student understands that yoga classes may be photographed or recorded for educational or promotional purposes.
By signing this Agreement, the Student grants permission for their image, likeness, or voice to be used by the Teacher for marketing, educational, or training purposes, unless the Student provides written notice opting out prior to participation.
Acknowledgment & Consent
By signing below, the Student acknowledges that:

They have read and understood this Agreement

Participation is voluntary
-
They accept full responsibility for their physical and emotional well-being during yoga practice
-
This document constitutes a release of liability
The Student agrees to participate at their own discretion and risk.
